Since 1992 Schuran Seawater Equipment is manufacturing filtration units for seawater systems. The first installation in the zoo of Duisburg was more than convincingly, so that in further years several modifications have been constructed. 1996 the first units for the hobby sector were developed.
This continuously development of equipment is based on eclectic and long lasting experiences. The initial start-up of a new equipment is always given by the insufficient state of the technology in existing systems. One of Schuran policy is to combine perfect function, service-friendliness, durability and accurate and high quality of workmanship.

Some of the seawater products like Nitrate-, Multi- or Flowbedfilter are also suitable for the usage in freshwater systems. One general question whether skimmers can also be used in freshwater systems has been answered after many years of experience and trials in koi ponds, ornamental fish- and eating fish systems. Schuran developed a Jetskim-Freshwater skimmer, which improves the water quality significantly and allowes a higher stocking in the tank or pond.
