Ratz - NITRATE FILTER
|
 | Sulphur nitrate filter Grade 1
Technical data:
Pipe diameter: 75 mm
Pipe length: 300 mm
Total length: 420 mm
Weight: ca. 1.8 kg
Filling: ca. 1.2 kg = 1 litre
It is possible to run a number of sulphur nitrate filters in parallel or in series for larger aquariums.
Sulphur Nitrate filter Size 1
Adequate for an aquarium of up to 500 litres in capacity
The sulphur nitrate filter is a product from Ratz Aquarientechnik.
It was developed to allow problem-free removal of nitrate compounds from seawater aquariums.
The level of efficiency is many times greater than that of a conventional nitrate filter which means that you can achieve the same performance with a small device as you would with a conventional nitrate filter.
Another feature which speaks for the new filter is the fact that one does not require any additional nutrient solution to feed the bacteria.
You simply connect up the sulphur nitrate filter to the bypass on your pressure line from the filter to the aquarium. One needs a hose and a ball valve.
e.g. an Eheim 9/12 Tap connector to mount the device.
The sulphur nitrate filter must be screwed vertically on the wall from where the water will flow from the bottom to the top.
The start-up time from a new start to reach a measured value of 0 mg takes between 4 days and 4 weeks. This time period depends upon a range of different parameters in the aquarium water.
Size 1 achieves a water throughput rate of up to about 10 litres of nitrate-free water per hour.
The sulphur nitrate filter can be started up again as often as required; the filling will be not damaged in any way by doing this. The working life of such filters is about 2 - 4 years, depending on the levels of nitrate in the aquarium.
The operating instructions are included in the set.

 | Nitrate filter RA 5
Technical data RA 5:
Dimension 400 x 250 x 50 mm
Filter foam volume 4 litres
Pressure strength max. 0.2 bar
Deployment: dry or wet
The company Ratz Aquarientechnik has developed a nitrate filter which is
simple and compact in construction.
The closed body prevents oxygen from finding its way into the system
in order to achieve optimum benefits.
Removal of the nitrate takes place biologically.
The development of a cascade form means that a longer throughput time
is achieved and also therefore an optimum level of efficiency.
The internal structure of the nitrate filters RA5 & RA 10 consists of a pure
filter foam piece PPI 20-30 which allows one to achieve a high surface area.
This leads to a higher water throughput volume.
The system is available in two sizes, Model RA 5 with an internal volume
of 5 litres and Model RA 10 with an internal volume of 10 litres of
gross contents.
The connection is achieved over a bypass from the main pump in the filter
by means of a T-piece.
The addition of nutrients for the bacteria can be achieved using our economically priced starter
level nitrate dropper set and the associated nutrient solution.
We recommend the use of a dosing pump to obtain exact dosing of our nutrient solution.

The nitrate dropper set
The economically priced alternative to a dosing pump.
You screw the bottle holder onto the wall and can then use this arrangement
to comfortably dose our nutrient solution "1000 ml bottles" for our nitrate filters
RA 5 & RA 10.
The dosing unit is a precision dropper stemming from the medical field and is primarily
used in intensive care units which means that it is very reliable.
The operating instructions are included in the set.
