The Skimmer/Filter operates in 3 ways
1. Marine Skimmer
2. Biological Filter
3. Mechanical Filter
Method
Water is drawn into the skimmer and mixed with air by the internal pump.
The water then passes over plastic foam to provide mechanical filtration and into the large biological compartment filled with a very high surface area plastic media.
Finally the water re-enters the aquarium through the plastic foam thereby effecting a second mechanical filter.
Due to the high oxygen saturation the biological filter operates at maximum efficiency.
The unit will clamp on to any glass thickness between 4 - 12mm and aquariums with bracing bars up to 50mm wide.
